Christmas presents are the most expensive gifts. The average Czech buys 13 of them and spent nearly 6,000 crowns on them last year. This is a noticeable intervention in the family budget.
Try to make gifts
You can save a lot on gifts. Try to give your relatives gifts of their own. Here are some tips:
- Donate homemade jams. Cut off a piece of cloth and attach it to the handle with a string. Write a nice appetite label.
- Sew fabric toys for children.
- Load homemade camembert. Be sure to add pieces of red pepper to make the glass look appealing.
Vouchers for 0 CZK
If you have a real need for money, agree with your partner that you will not give each other any gifts this year. Use the saved money for gifts for children.
Another option is handmade gift vouchers. In them you donate the thing, but your time and work. The advantage is that nothing costs you. Get inspired by our tips:
- I’ll cook your favorite meal.
- I’ll clean the whole apartment instead of you.
- I’m rubbing your back.
Decorate the tree with gingerbread
You can significantly save even on Christmas decorations. Do not buy chocolate collections on the tree, but rather hang homemade gingerbreads there. Instead of expensive glass flasks that break up just as soon, dry the slices of orange on the heater. The advantage is that these edible decorations beautifully scent the whole apartment.
Don’t buy an advent wreath this year. At home you can make it at a much lower cost. True, the first time you have to buy a corpus of wreaths and candle holders, but both will last for many years.
Then just tear twigs or twigs of evergreen buxus and wire them to the wreath. Stab the stands and candles into them. Just attach the bow to the wreath and you’re done.
